Camp Glen Green
Camp Glen Green is a Certified Wildlife Habitat garden that is a haven for local birds, butterflies, and other wildlife by providing he basic requirements of food, water, nesting, and cover that protects against predators. But it is more than that.
Allie Bakes is based here. Hollywood Orchard is based here too. So many thing happen here at Camp Glen Green. . . A warm and wonderful place to just stop by and chat, look at the birds, have a baked goodie, make some jam, enjoy a locally harvested cocktail or pet a husky.
Dog Rescue Orgs are Supported Here!
Allie Bakes supports Hollywood Huskies and Delaney’s Dog through donations from dog treat sales, fundraising events, graphic design, fostering and transporting pups. Once you have a husky, your life changes and you will do as much as you can to save one of these magnificent beasties.
Pictured is Raza, our foster for three months after he was hit by a car, suffered a broken pelvis and was surrendered by his owners to a shelter. He healed beautifully and was adopted by a woman who just can’t get enough of him.
Cheremoya Mural Project
Hollywood Orchard, with the design expertise of naturalist and activist artist, Elkpen, and a panel of Los Angeles’ first peoples, the Gabrieleno-Tongva, is creating a permanent four-part educational mural project for the interior schoolyard of the Cheremoya Elementary School, a Title 1 (low income) public school in the Los Angeles system. The mural series, which will cover 3700 sq. ft. of wall space, depicts the natural and cultural history of Los Angeles and the immediate schoolyard environs: the geography of our watershed, its flora and fauna, and indigenous peoples and their land-use practices.
